Over my winter break, i decided to create a custom boot theme for Windows 7. This was a fairly long process because of the animation and image modification i had to do, but the end result was definitely worth it! If you would like to set up your computer to boot to this as well, just follow the instructions below! *DISCLAIMER* The Windows 7 Boot Updater can cause problems with your computer (you can read more about it on the website linked below in the instructions). If you do not wish to risk it (as unlikely as it is), please do not follow the instructions below. I am not responsible for any damage this may cause to your computer. Use at your own risk. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Download the Windows 7 Boot Updater. This is probably the most important part. You can find it here: http://www.coderforlife.com/projects/win7boot/ NOTE: Once downloaded, you only have to run the executable (.exe) to get the programming running. There is no installation. 2. Download my Windows 7 Boot Theme and once downloaded, unzip it. You can download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/8j8yx4pprkpy4p2/Carbon%20Windows%207.zip NOTE: This download contains a zip file with a .bs7 file (needed for the windows boot theme updater), and two wallpapers that you can use if you are so inclined. The boot theme was derived off of these wallpapers that i created (its the same one in 1920x1080 and in 1366x768) 3. Open up the Windows 7 Boot Updater if you haven't done so already (it should be Win7BootUpdater.exe). Click file in the top left and select Load Boot Skin. Find where you unzipped it on your computer and make sure you select the .bs7 file labeled Carbon_Windows_7.bs7. 4. Click Apply and reboot to see your new custom windows boot theme in effect! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tell me what you think! Feel free to re-distribute this (or link to this video) as you please. All i ask in return is credit where its due. If you have any suggestions or comments, please leave them below!
