Interview Process:- (job interview question and answers) Microsoft takes 5 round of interviews to judge your abilities, your domain knowledge and an overall personal ability. The first and the second qualifier round was done online and both were technical. 1st Technical Round – Interview Questions were focused on Computer Science. - General Questions - Multiple Choice Questions 2nd Technical Test – Programming ( Shantanu got to solve the questions on the following topics) - Tree Traversal - Linked List Tests were done on Co-Cube an online platform Technical Interview tips and suggestions – To perform well in this round, candidates should be well versed with basics of Computer science domain, Data Structure and Basic Algorithms. Be familiar, be comfortable and be ready to programme. 3rd round was a GD round . It was more of a Technical discussion. In this round a question was given to each and every student and a sheet was given where they were supposed to write a algorithm, then to design and justify. The executive from Microsoft will move from one student to another and will discuss with them about their approach, how to proceed with problem, how do you understand. The final aim is not to get the right answer but to understand your approach towards the problem. GD Interview tips and suggestions – Please be confident and be sure of the approach. Even if you think you are going into the wrong direction, they will be guiding you in getting the right solution. 4th & 5th were interview rounds. Both the rounds were taken by different set of people. In the 4th round i.e F2F round, questions were asked from different domain. F2F Interview tips and suggestions:- It is very important to do a full proof cv preparation and include every aspect of the following:- -Projects done. -Internship -Industrial Experience And go through the CV very well. In Shantanu's case the interviewer was from Parallel computing & Supercomputing domain. But Shantanu's area of interest were into Game Engine Optimization, Game Development, Virtual Reality and Marginal Reality. So questions were based on software Systems related semaphore, file locking. Concepts needs to be very clear to answers all the questions. 5th Round – Somebody from same domain of Shantanu had taken the interview. It was not a Technical Round. Discussion was mainly regarding the project, question on thesis, or it could be any surprise question. F2F Interview tips and suggestions It is important to convey your points to the interviewer. Before you go for the interview, have breakfast, be in full confidence Be loud and clear. Be clear in your approach. Concluding Tips (Job interview techniques and tips):- 1) Should be thorough with Algorithms 2) Basics of Computer Science should be clear 3) Project confidence. 4) Slot Choice – If there is an option of choosing an interview slot always try to pick the morning slots. As the interviewer does not have much experience of the lot and it can gain some brownie points if the candidates can clear in the first round. The company just want to complete the number of recruits and it's usually easier if you are through in the first half. .
