Creating custom Wordpress templates and themes is pretty easy... if you have the right approach, and the right background. To be successful, you do need to have a good working knowledge of HTML and CSS... and just a little bit of knowledge of php, so these tutorials assume you have all that. ;-) This series of tutorials will help you understand how Wordpress template files work, how to create functions in Wordpress, how to use sidebar widgets, featured images, custom fields, and understand the template hierarchy used in Wordpress themes. In this part, we will look at how common wordpress functions can be used in your templates.
